Yes, it’s going to be a list.
And to be quite frank, it’s the shit you know. I’m just reminding you.
SLEEP LIKE A BABY
F*ck. How many times have we heard this? This is most important habit for anyone. Game changing. 7-8 hours ya’ll. C’mon, get those zzzzs.
NO LATE NIGHT SHIT
Well because then you fail ‘ SLEEP LIKE A BABY’. Duh!
And you’re drained because you haven’t slept enough. It compounds, and then you explode.
I’m kidding. But sleep early bitches.
GOOD SUPER EARLY MORNING!
The early bird catches the motherf*cking worm. You get more stuff when the world sleeps.
Most people so their best work right after they wake up – so don’t waste it on pointless emails and social media.
MORE SUNLIGHT, PLEASE
Get those Vitamin Ds. Get rid of that inflammation, bad mood, and blood pressure. Improves muscles and brain function. It’s FREE, too.
Lift , run, bike, swim, high intensity….anything. Do something you love. It all counts.
F*UCK THE GYM
The whole world is a gym! Not being a dick…well, perhaps a bit, but seriously, run outdoors, push ups in the park, some air squats – the notion that you need a gym to get healthy is crap. Save the $.
BURN MORE CALORIES
Basic stuff. EXERCISE is great, but how many calories you eat/drink vs how many calories you burn makes all the difference when you’re on a weight loss mission.
Know what’s in your food. If it has something that’s better off in a chemistry lab, don’t eat it.
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
Eat more of these. You’ve known this since you were 3. And drink lots of water while you’re at it.
BODIES ARE BUILT IN THE KITCHEN
No, not working out in the kitchen. What you eat in private, you wear in public.
CHANGE IT UP
Food, exercise, everything! You don’t have to eat that bland piece of (insert meat or vegetable) everyday. Enjoy life, don’t be bored.
YOGA AND MEDITATION
Go for the practicality, learn how to focus the mind and body. Be present and think of the now. Forget everything else.
NON-EXERCISE ACTIVITY THERMOGENESIS (NEAT)
You spend an hour in the gym. You sleep for 7 hours. That gives you 16 hours left in the day. What you do in these 16 hours make all the difference,
NEAT is the energy used for everything we do that is not sleeping, eating or sports-like exercise – it’s your 16 hours. Walking to work, taking the stairs, typing, and cleaning the house comes under NEAT. Even fidgeting counts.
THINK LONG TERM
It takes 9 months to make a baby. Not 9 babies in one month (from 1 person…pointing out the obvious).
All good things take time. They’re the result of daily, repeatable actions that pay off.
BUILD HABITS, NOT GOALS
A goal almost never works out, but habits stick, and without thinking too much about it, you’ve completed your goal.
Example of a daunting goal – Run a marathon.
Example of a daily habit – Run everyday
End result – Ultimately you run a marathon, as your body is ready from your daily ritual of running.
Forget everyone else, and what they think of you. And f*ck what everyone blatantly brags about in social media. Take care of yourself. No one else will.
If you want to do something crazy like traveling the Artic, go for it. Don’t need nobody’s permission.
COMPASSION FOR OTHERS
I know I said Do You. But that doesn’t mean ‘be an asshole’. ‘Do You’ is compatible with compassion. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably been dealt a good a card in the deck of life.
Enjoy it. No douchebaggery. Care for your fellow mates.
DON’T NETFLIX AND CHILL
Guilty as charged. And harder to get rid of than a cocaine habit. Not that I know, but it sounded like a good thing to write.
But all I’m saying is there’s more to life than watching series after series after series. Perhaps there’s that little something on the side you’ve been wanting to do.
Or that book you’ve been wanting to read…or write.
ACCEPT YOU MIGHT FAIL
Did you drop out of your daily habit? Ooooooh shiiiit!
I’m f*cking with ya. It happens to the best of us. You’re not a loser,
Just Reset, Restart, and Repeat.
THE MIND IS THE STRONGEST MUSCLE
Everything starts and end here. Control it like the Matrix.
